My Coffee Station Organization
I organized my coffee station a few months ago, but I wanted to wait to share it because I don’t want to recommend a system or a product until I’ve used it for awhile, and I know that it’s sustainable. But luckily, this coffee station has certainly been that! My new system has been working wonderfully.
We love coffee in this house, and most of our guests and babysitters do too. I got the Nespresso Vertuo Plus for my birthday a year ago, and I love it. (I like to make cappuccinos with this frother!) But everyone else in my life still prefers a classic cup from the Keurig, so we had to find a way to accommodate both machines, plus all of the pods that accompany them.
Luckily, the machines fit pretty comfortably due to the design of the Nespresso machine–it has a movable water tank that can go on either side of it, making it easy to fit into your space. But organizing the pods presented more of a challenge…
For K-cup pods, we use this bamboo drawer organizer. It works very well for displaying K-cups and quick access on a daily basis. We also keep supplies for tea and hot chocolate in this organizer since it has so many sections. (Fun fact: This is also our silverware drawer organizer, and it works wonderfully there too!)
The bigger issue to address was how to organize the back-stock of K-cups…. which is an issue any time you choose to decant for aesthetics. You rarely have the space for the exact number of the item you’re decanting, so you need to make a decision for what to do with the remaining items. For this coffee station, I found these containers which fit my space well and happen to fit a K-cup box just perfectly. This allows us to store the boxes as well as stray extra pods in one big “back-stock K-cup” container.
The cabinet below the coffee station is where we chose to keep the Nespresso Vertuo pods. I scoured the internet for good Vertuo pod organizers, but I didn’t think anything was very practical for our space, so I chose to decant by category: decaf, single, double, and coffee. Our containers are big enough that tons of pods fit, so there is no need for back-stock.
The highlight of these containers is that they have wheels on the back, so they ROLL OUT for easy access to their contents!
Because I chose to decant the Nespresso pods, I lost the information that comes on the box about the strength or type of each coffee flavor. So I taped this “Nespresso Vertuo Key”, which came with a sample pack of pods, up on the door of the cabinet.
Lastly, the coffee station is complete with my favorite cups. I love a classic YETI for temperature control, but I also have these clear mugs that I love to use because they are classy.
Happy Friday! I hope you get to drink a delicious cup of coffee today. 🙂
