What To Pack for a Ski Trip
We just arrived in Crested Butte, Colorado for a week of skiing! We are so excited for a fun way to enjoy the great outdoors in the middle of winter, especially since it’s an easy way to be socially distant (except for lift lines, where masks are required).
Skiing, snowboarding, or any winter sport takes a lot of preparation. They require so much gear due to the cold weather and extra logistics if you’re traveling far. My family has been going on ski trips ever since I was young, so I have thoroughly refined my skiing packing list, and I’m excited to share it with you!
My Skiing Packing List
Skiing necessities:
- Skis (unless you’re renting)
- Ski boots (unless you’re renting)
- Ski coat
- Ski pants
- Mid-layer
- Base shirt(s)
- Base pant(s)/leggings
- Ski socks
- Helmet
- Under-the-helmet hat
- Goggles
- Neck gaiter (and/or mask)
- Mittens
- Lift pass, if you have a permanent one
Other helpful items for skiing:
- Hand warmers
- Toe warmers
- Backpack or fanny pack, if you want to carry more
- Snacks
- Water
- Trail map
- Sunscreen
- Tissues
- Tylenol or Advil (lol)
- Aprés hat (for hat hair 😉)
Don’t forget your basic items, such as:
- Phone
- Keys
- Wallet
- Mask(s)
- Watch
- Headphones
- Sunglasses
- Hand sanitizer & hand lotion (I always pair these two together to help my hands not dry out)
And if you’re trip is an overnight:
- Clothes & undergarments
- Shoes
- Non-ski coat, hat, gloves, scarf
- Pajamas
- Toiletries
- Chargers
Of course, this year I also had to pack for a 1-year-old, but that’s a different story entirely, so more to come on that…
Wishing you some opportunities to enjoy the outdoors this winter!
