Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Kids That Don’t Add Clutter

After my non-clutter Valentine’s Day gift ideas for partners, I knew I needed to do one for kids. Kids are like clutter magnets! Plus, as a parent, I would love to foster an environment that is not as focused on materialism (which is definitely an area in which I can grow…). I have a feeling this is a category that I will be continually brainstorming throughout my whole parenthood journey (so please feel free to let me know if you have any ideas!), but here are the best ideas I’ve got so far for non-clutter Valentine’s gifts for kids.

Practical Upgrades

Rather than starting your brainstorming with something they don’t need, start with what they DO need. Think through upcoming events, trips, seasons. Consider ways they are growing and their needs are changing. Are there any items they need anyways? These can still be great gifts, especially if you lean into what they would love and get items in their favorite character or theme. (And remember to declutter the old items if you’re upgrading to something new!)

Experiences

Once again, experiences are a great gift option for kids! Here are some more kid-specific ideas. Some of them might be bigger than a standard Valentine’s Day gift, but this list is good to keep in mind for all holidays and occasions, and it may serve as inspiration for something small along the same lines. Quality time outside of the norm can always be a special gift to a kid, no matter the size or cost.
