The Best Non-Fiction Books That I Read in 2022
Some people do gift guides, I guess I’m going to do book guides… This is round 2 of my favorite books from 2022, and this time we’re focusing on non-fiction books.
My Favorite Non-Fiction Books from 2022
Self
Atomic Habits by James Clear

This is one of my favorite self-improvement reads ever, because it’s so practical. I’m often looking to adjust my habits, and this book offers so many tips on how to make that easier–just a little bit at a time.
The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer

This book wrecked me, but in the best way. It poses a strong case against the hustle culture and then offers practical ways to slow yourself down. I already feel emotionally healthier after reading it, and I can’t wait to implement more ideas. I’m just trying to… you know… take it slowly.
Home
How To Keep House While Drowning by K.C. Davis

Another all-time great self-help read, but this time focused on home-keeping. The book is short, easy, and packed full of helpful tips & encouraging words relating to caring for yourself and your space. I listened to the audiobook, but I legitimately think I’m going to buy a hard copy so that I can annotate it. (That’s when you know it HAS to be good.)
The Lazy Genius Way by Kendra Adachi

Absolutely incredible tips and tricks for prioritizing what matters most in your home and relationships. If I wrote a book, I would want it to be like this one. (Kendra, will you be my big sister?!?!)
Organizing for the Rest of Us by Dana K. White

The best way I can describe this book is simply by it’s subtitle: 100 realistic strategies to keep any house under control. It’s a quick and easy read with very helpful tips and resources.
Parenting
These book recommendations are very specific to the stage of parenting that I am currently in: toddlerhood! So if you are not a parent of a toddler or soon-to-be-toddler, you probably don’t even want to bother with the below…
Oh Crap! Potty Training by Jamie Glowacki

This method of potty training was absolutely excellent for our kid! Plus Jamie Glowacki is funny and logical, which makes reading this book a breeze. Perfect for busy moms (or dads) of toddlers.
1-2-3 Magic by Thomas W. Phelan

This book has a lot of specific opinions, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend getting caught up in the details, but I do love the overall approach to discipline, and it has worked wonderfully for our toddler.
What are your favorite non-fiction books? I would love to hear in the comments below!
