How to Make Your Guests Feel at Home
There’s no place like home for the holidays! And that’s why, when I am hosting people during this season, I want it to feel like home as much as possible. So I’ve developed this basic checklist for whenever someone will be staying at our house.
Checklist for Hosting Guests
Prepare the Space
- Make space in the bedroom
- In the drawers
- In the closet
- For luggage
- By the bedside table
- Make space in the bathroom
- On the countertop/in a drawer
- On the shower shelves
- Clean (if necessary)
- Wash the sheets & make the bed
- Vacuum & dust the bedroom
- Wipe down the bathroom
Add Amenities
Bedroom
- Extra blankets
- Snacks & treats
- Water
- Tissues
- Clock
- Wi-Fi password
- Chargers (and/or extension cords, if necessary)
- Pen & paper
Bathroom
- Towels
- Extra toiletries
- Water
- Tissues
- Clock
Kitchen
- Coffee & creamer – I like to ask my guests ahead of time how they like their coffee so that I can get any special creamers or milk ahead of time.
- Wi-Fi password (yes, again) – I just keep this on the fridge always for anytime we have guests over.
I don’t always get to everything on this list, but I still like to run through it and see what I can do quickly. Sometimes even one of these little touches will make your guests feel loved. ๐ Happy hosting!
