16 Products Perfect For Toy Storage
Yesterday I posted about how to organize toys for young kids. (If you haven’t read that post, I highly encourage you to go do so!) One of the last steps, but an important one nonetheless, is to invest in some toy storage. As I discussed in my previous post, I believe it’s best to buy multi-functional, high-quality storage pieces that you enjoy to see all around your house. This is your house and the toys, although prominent, are just a season. So here are some pieces of furniture and décor that I think would be absolutely perfect for toy organization.
Toy Storage Products
Humble Crew Toy Organizer: We just purchased this for my 3-year-old’s closet, and I’m so excited to see it come together. This piece is made for toy organization, so it’s best for a kid’s bedroom or playroom. But it provides A LOT of storage for the price. (Especially right now as it’s on sale!)
Montessori Toy Storage Organizer: I really like the layout of this piece, and I think it would be perfect for a kid’s bedroom or small play space.
ClosetMaid 6 Cube Storage Shelf: Cube shelves are great for toy storage because you can customize a combination of empty shelves and shelves with baskets to accommodate both small and big toys.
Storage Bench: We have a storage bench like this in our family room, and it’s been perfect for functional seating for adults, but still lots of storage to completely hide a bunch of toys. Plus, it’s easy for the kids to access so they can help put their toys away (or at least try, haha!).
Woven Storage Ottoman: Similar concept to the bench, this storage ottoman is beautiful yet functional.
Hanging Wall Storage Basket: I love to repurpose a pretty decorative piece like this and make it into storage. You could hang this by the entryway and store outside toys in it.
Nesting Banana Leaf Baskets: Woven baskets are EVERYWHERE in our home because I really, really love baskets. This particular set is great quality for a great price.
Bamboo Decorative Storage Boxes: Another option for decorative storage. These could be good for small toys, maybe small pieces for ages 3+ that you keep out of reach of the littler kids.
Cotton Rope Laundry Basket: Laundry baskets like this are my go-to for stuffed animal storage in the kids’ rooms. I like rope baskets because they are the perfect combination of soft and sturdy for babies and kids.
Cotton Rope Storage Cubes: Another great rope basket option. These would fit perfect in a cube storage shelf!
Fabric Storage Baskets: We have a lot of these baskets all over our house. They are in our storage bench to add some extra organization within the large space. They also work well in closets. Again, I love the soft sides for kids’ stuff!
H&M Toy Storage Basket: How cute is this?! It also comes in green and blue. I think it would work well under a bed or in a cabinet.
Plastic Storage Bins: These would also be great in a closet or cabinet. Clear containers are always great for kids, because they can see what’s inside (and they obviously can’t read labels!).
Plastic Storage Bins with Lids: These would be great for long-term storage or toy rotation.
Creative QT SlideAway Toy Storage Organizer & Play Mat: I love this creative take on toy organization for small toys. I’m sure it would be great for bigger kids, especially when you want to keep their smaller toys away from babies, but it would also be good for any sets that get scattered easily—blocks, dolls, trucks, etc.
Mesh Zipper Pouches: We have a set of these, and they are great for sub-categorizing things, like board game pieces, small accessories, etc. I also like to use the bigger pouches to store craft supplies.
